Queer Gaze

Today, Tuesday, November 17th, from 11:30am - noon PST, I will join the illustrious Eva Lake on KBOO's ART FOCUS program. We will be discussing the exhibition itself, touching on the history of feminist art and queer culture, as well as a more in depth discussion of several of the pieces in the show. Tomorrow, Wednesday, November 18th, from noon - 1:00pm PST, Lorenzo Triburgo, Megan Holmes, and I will join Chris Haberman for a live broadcast webTV interview on PDX ART SCENE. Art of Touring : Night of Performances

Fontanelle will continue to celebrate the Art of Touring exhibition by hosting an evening of readings and performances by Sara Jaffe (Erase Errata), Rebecca Gates, Tara Jane Oneil, and Julianna Bright (The Golden Bears) this Saturday, August 22, beginning at 6pm. We look forward to an evening of dreaming, music making, and tales of touring!

Lesbian Art Show in Willamette Week

We are having a party next Thursday, June 25th from 7-10pm to close out the exhibition, featuring live musical performances from Her Jazz Noise Collective (Vancouver BC) and Judy (PDX). Should be an excellent evening and we hope you'll join us!

Nature documentaries with live soundtrack, tonight!!!!


Tonight Fontanelle will be hosting a very special closing event for If I Weren't Here, They would Be.  At 8:30pm we will be screening an old nature documentary with a live musical soundtrack performance by Moor Loups!
The event is free.
There will be cheap beer.
There will be beautiful art.
And if you have not yet had a chance to explore Shawn Creeden's 
notorious cave and to admire his wonderful drawings and embroideries, you have no excuse not to do so tonight!

Tara Jane Oneil Album Release Party

Please join us at Fontanelle Gallery as we host the K Records release of Tara Jane Oneil’s fifth studio solo album, A Ways Away.
Special musical guests collaborators from A Ways Away will join her that evening for performances [Mirah, Explode into colors, Castanets and Sad horse are rumored to be stirring up some music magic with TJO tonight at fontanelle... ].

Along with the debut of new songs, there will be screening of music videos created by Zak Margolis and Megan Holmes.

Bring your treasures and show 'em off.
In honor of the current exhibition at Fontanelle, A Hunter's Return To The Good Country, we invite you to bring in an object from your favorite collection to share with the group. We'll take turns talking about our treasures. Bring your favorite rock, influential book, action figure, postcard, etc. etc. etc. We know you guys have some pretty weird hobbies so come on down, nerd out, get to know people a little better, and enjoy some cookies.

The Tortuous Veil

October 31, 2008 - Daniel Long in the Oregonian



We were psyched to read Brian Libby's great review of Daniel's show in today's Arts and Entertainment section of the Oregonian! I Heard It Through The Grapevine has been such a fun exhibition and we hope that you'll have the chance to come see it before it comes down!

October 2008 - Parlour Shop!


We are hard at work searching the world over to find the creme for our Parlour Shop ! Expect to see inky octopus pillows from Wonder Thunder of Seattle, Knitted animal brooches from Sarah McNeil of Melbourne, spectacular prints from Julia Pott of London, and crazy sexy cooldrawings from Cat Lauigan of Brooklyn in the very near future!

September 2008 - We are officially open! Yay!



The opening Party All I Can Do is Dream was totally awesome!
Friends and lovers and hometown heroes showed up to give us hugs and high fives. We had 200+ people come through, as well as five bouquets flowers, 148 cupcakes, and 15 bottles of champagne. You guys are rad!
